I racked the summer ale that I fermented in corny kegs today and had a sample glass from each fermentor while I was about it. The early verdict? The ale is very clean and considering it was fermented with us-05 it was reassuringly clear. The only complaint is it does seem a little under attenuated. All in all I’m rapt, this will be my method from now on.

Hey Kieran
Just read your review of Hansa Urbock on ratebeer, where did you get it from i've been trying to find that beer for a while?
my experience is that it will keep on attenuating in time, though whether you will have the same experience given that you probably drink your beer younger than mine (in bottles of course) i'm not sure. sometimes this is not such a good thing; a dry stout i made with us05 not so long ago has ended up well and truly hollowed out. i also think it does clear up ok, better than some think, though it will take a little longer than saf04. i've heard it said that it clears better with a bit of dark malt in the grist, though that's clearly not the case with a summer ale.
anyway. a few thoughts.

Ur-Bock was from Regionals , they don't have any at the moment.
The Summer ale has dried up a bit over night, its tasting fantastic today, my breakfast beer was awesome.
Any reason to think the under attenuation is from the fermenter?
No, I tried the beer again today and its dried up a bit in the corny over night. I also racked a batch of IPA today and it was very dry and hoppy.
kieran, love it: "my breakfast beer". some dope-head friends of mine once did a holiday where the rule was 'cones before breakfast' which was a phrase i adapted for a particularly hoppy brew of mine one time. sadly, the days of being able to afford a beer at breakfasttime are long gone for me, though i should get back to my weekend lunchtime pints.

I just had an email from Regionals saying that their import of ur-bock has arrived.
