Reflections on beer from an advocate, retailer, brewer and drinker.
About me:
I am the Beer Specialist for Regional Wines and Spirits one of the most comprehensive and unique liquor retailers in New Zealand. My background is as a cheese monger and I have an all round passion for fermented foods. I have a particular passion for English beer styles and I run a 60 litre real ale home brewery.
Stu is it an advance sample, or a sample whose maturation is advanced?
i have an imperial stout that i think will get quite a bit better, but at 3 months old right now it seems a little bland to me. i'm hoping it dries out because i suspect the sugars are smothering the flavour at present.
anyway i'll do my best to come over too. it is our work xmas party on thursday but i'm rapidly backtracking on it as it appears the beer selection will be pretty dire.....does that make me a Grinch of a sort? Ed

Cheers. I'll be there with bells on...
I'll bring an advanced sample of my Imperial Stout Porter, for the host.

I might come over and bring some of my "alt". Then we can play a game of what-went-wrong-on-brew-day.
Thanks for having us Kieran...
And Steve, thanks for the "Berliner Alt".
